High-quality vodka can be drunk undiluted with a good snack. However, it can be mixed with other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to obtain cocktails with original flavors. Sufficient strength, absence of smell and taste allow vodka to be used in a wide variety of recipes. Cocktails with vodka at home are very simple to prepare, but they turn out tasty, beautiful, and refined.
The recommendations will help you make simple cocktails with vodka yourself, spending a minimum of time on it. These tips will come in handy if guests suddenly arrive and you urgently need to arrange delicious and original drinks for the table.
- Always keep ice cubes in the freezer. Even if you have pre-chilled the vodka, ice will help enhance its flavor.
- Purchase cocktail straws and highballs in advance - tall, cylinder-shaped glasses in which alcoholic cocktails are served.
- Buy a professional shaker. It allows you to prepare decent cocktails even from the simplest ingredients, since it does not just mix them, but cools them to the required temperature.
- Always keep a small supply of citrus fruits at home. They are used to prepare many alcoholic cocktails with vodka, and wedges can be used to decorate almost any resulting drink.
- Buy only high-quality vodka. A cocktail based on fake alcohol will be tasteless and also dangerous to the body.
Recipes
The ideal cocktail can be prepared using the formula A+2B+7C, where A is the sweet component (syrup, liqueur), B is the sour ingredient (fruit juice), C is the alcohol base (vodka). Mixing 7 parts alcohol with 3 parts other ingredients produces a tasty, medium-strength drink.
You can use ready-made recipes that will allow you to make various vodka-based cocktails at home. All ingredients are available, detailed instructions will help even a person without experience prepare original drinks.

History: a recipe for vodka with Sprite appeared on the Internet several years ago. This is a “folk” low-alcohol cocktail for young people.
I am often asked what cocktails can be made at home, and when I ask what alcohol is available, they say that only vodka is available. At the same time, those who ask do not really hope for a large number of options. There is a certain stereotype that homemade cocktails with vodka are a banal “screwdriver” or vodka mixed with other juice. This is completely wrong!
If you read various bartender's guides, there are not many vodka-based cocktails without the participation of liqueurs. But the homecocktail website exists precisely for this purpose, to adapt classic recipes for the home bar. And so let’s figure out what vodka is for the composition of a cocktail. This is the perfect strong base for a cocktail!
Of course, vodka has a sharper taste than rum and, as a rule, does not have a characteristic aromatic taste, but with the right dosage it can replace many strong cocktail bases. Of course, if you only have vodka and juice on the table and nothing else, then it’s difficult to do anything else besides vodka and juice. But even from such sources you can squeeze out more than it seems at first glance. If desired, from banal vodka you can prepare short shooters that can be drunk in one gulp, classic cocktails, and even milkshakes with vodka at home.
1. Keep ice packs in the freezer of your refrigerator. Even if your vodka is cold, a drink chilled with ice has a better taste.
2. Stock up on good cocktail glassware in advance; a regular highball glass and cocktail straws will do.
3. If you want to make something decent with minimal starting materials, you need to have bartender tools, at least a shaker.
4. Keep a minimum supply of citrus fruits, lemon, orange in the refrigerator. They will be needed for decoration.
1. cocktail “V and V”
50 ml - vodka
75 ml orange juice
75 ml grapefruit juice
20 ml lemon juice (squeeze ½ fresh lemon)
Add ice to the shaker and pour all the ingredients, mix. Add ice to the highball glass and pour the drink. Garnish with a slice of lemon and orange.
2. Cherryboss cocktail
50 ml-vodka
150 ml cherry juice
20 ml lemon juice (fresh)
Put ice in a highball glass and pour vodka, juice and lemon juice on top. Stir.
3. "pineapple" cocktail
50 ml-vodka
150 ml pineapple juice
20 ml lemon juice (fresh)
20 ml orange juice (fresh)
2 spoons of sugar
Place ice and all ingredients in a shaker. Mix vigorously. Add ice to a highball glass and pour the drink. Garnish with an orange slice.
If you buy yourself 1-2 variants of syrups, then the range of possible cocktails will be much wider. It is best, of course, to use good syrups, but in extreme cases, you can buy regular syrup in the store. The quality is of course worse, but in the absence of a better one you can use it.
4. cocktail “morning with your beloved”
50 ml-vodka
100 ml pineapple juice
75 ml milk
30 ml coconut syrup
Place ice in a shaker, pour in all ingredients and shake vigorously. Pour into a highball glass. If there are ingredients that are pronounced in terms of taste, such as syrup and juice, the taste of vodka will not be felt! You can add a scoop of ice cream or a banana and blend in a blender. As a result, the ingredients that are usually found in every refrigerator will make an excellent cocktail.
By also adding 5-10 ml of grenadine syrup to vodka mixed with orange or pineapple juice, you will give the cocktail an original two-color and diversify the flavor range.
EXAMPLE.
50 ml-vodka
100 ml - pineapple juice
50 ml orange juice
10 ml syrup GRENADINE

Place ice in a highball glass and pour all ingredients except syrup. Stir. Add syrup without stirring. Garnish with an orange slice.

put ice in the glass, then add liquid there (the sequence is not important).

Cocktails with vodka are a win-win option for any event. Moderate strength, absence of a specific odor, transparent color, excellent compatibility with juices, tonics and other types of alcohol make “white” an ideal basis for preparing various drinks, the taste of which is impossible to resist.
How to make a vodka cocktail?
Vodka-based cocktails are varied and easy to prepare. Juices, carbonated drinks, champagne, rum, whiskey and, especially, dry Martini go well with vodka. However, to get the perfect alcoholic drink, you need to follow the recipe, strictly observe the proportions and not replace one component with another.
- Before making alcoholic cocktails based on vodka, you should stock up on quality ingredients. This is especially true for vodka: a high-quality product tastes good and does not have a pronounced odor, which is very important for cocktails.
- In the absence of a formula for the ideal drink, you can create cocktails with vodka at home according to your own recipe. The formula of such a cocktail is not difficult to remember: A+2B+7C, where A is the sweet part, B is the sour part, and C is the alcoholic base.
- The lack of special cocktail devices will not be a problem either. Vodka-based drinks are usually stirred with a spoon in a glass for serving, but most of them look impressive even unstirred.
Cocktails with juice and vodka are incredibly popular. Strong, bitter alcohol goes well with fruit and berry nectars, increasing the strength of the drink without changing the taste. This is clearly noticeable in the Screwdriver cocktail, where vodka is mixed with orange juice, giving the cocktail a hint of citrus and making it softer, fresher and more delicate.
Ingredients:
- vodka - 50 ml;
- orange juice - 130 ml;
- orange slice - 1 pc.;
- ice cube - 3 pcs.
Preparation
- Place ice cubes in a tall glass.
- Pour in vodka and orange juice.
- These vodka cocktails are garnished with an orange slice and served immediately.
The only cocktail with Tabasco and vodka that immediately comes to mind is the Bloody Mary. An excellent hangover cure is a combination of vodka with tomato and lemon juices, salt and pepper, a drop of Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco. Thanks to the latter, the drink acquired a spicy pungency, sweet and sour taste and received the status of a legend.
Ingredients:
- vodka - 50 ml;
- tomato juice - 150 ml;
- lemon juice - 10 ml;
- Tabasco sauce - 1 ml;
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 ml;
